Dr. Ender Özdemir
A path from performer to maker

Dr. Ender Özdemir (Ankara, 1961) began his musical education with mandolin lessons in primary school and violin lessons in secondary school. Between 1983 and 1985 he studied Turkish Music and the kanun with Ali Şenozan at the Turkish Art Music Choir of Ankara University. Between 1991 and 1997 he served as a kanun artist in the choirs conducted by İsmail Baha Sürelsan.
During his doctoral studies he worked as a kanun instructor at the Antalya Municipality İsmail Baha Sürelsan Conservatory. He currently continues his work at the İdil Sanat Akademisi and the İdil Music Store, both of which he founded.
